Does Umrah wipe out all our sins?

Umrah is a sacred pilgrimage to the holiest city of Makkah that has no time bar and can be performed at any time of the 12 months. It is clear from the previous Hadith that performing Umrah can atone for a kind of sin, whether it be major or minor. Because the wording of the Hadith is general and thus it covers both categories.

However, there are two main conditions for the acceptance of Umrah:

  1. Must perform this ritual completely sincerely, only for the sake of Allah Almighty.
  2. To perform Umrah the same way it is mentioned in the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).

Generally speaking, one should turn to Allah Almighty at all times and in all places rather than it performing Umrah solely to ask for forgiveness for their misdeeds.

Poverty eradication is another benefit of performing the Umrah. It is believed Allah Almighty rewards the pilgrims with wealth as restitution for the money they spent on this taxing spiritual journey known as Umrah.

The strengthening of faith is another important benefit of Umrah. The Umrah acts as a confirmation of the pilgrim’s faith in the all-powerful Allah.
